To really kick myself in the ass and get things started re: diet. As its Ukrainian New Years. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Mkay? Thx.
I've got a call into the farrier about Rico, so hopefully he can come out in the next couple of days and see about getting things fixed. I'm actually excited about this, and the money I paid at the vet was well worth it, because now I KNOW that I'm not doing my horse any harm in riding him. In fact, the vet said that he wants this horse ridden 5 times a week if possible, and that he's strong enough to really push. I'm putting him on a vit E/selenium mineral supplement to help with his musculature as well as MSM. Vet also said he was the smartest and loveliest Trakehner he's seen in a long while :P Yay Rico!
In other horse news, I just heard that
Costa's sister is for sale now. I freaking LOVE this mare. I saw her at her inspection, and while she didn't score as high as Costa did, I think she actually had slightly better movement and more elasticity. She was also the only foal at that inspection to be awarded Premium. If only I had money... I'm surprised at the price though, honestly. It's a little bit high, to my way of thinking, especially in this market. Although, who knows. That mare's full sister sold last year as a yearling for 12k, so I guess she's just thinking that as a 3 year old, or turning 3 year old, she's worth more. Makes me glad though that I only paid 3k for Costa when I bought him though, because God knows, I couldn't afford him now if that was any indication!
At the barn we had a bit of a tragedy. On Dec. 27th, the horses were playing quite rough, and one of them got kicked. Broke his cannon bone in a complete freak accident. His owner decided to try to fix him, so the vet was out each day monitoring him, and they built him a jolly jumper in his stall to support his weight (sad, I wish she would have just let him go, because you could tell he was absolutely miserable). Anyways, last night, he must have slipped, because he refractured it to the point that the vet thought that it would only be kind to euthanize him. So RIP Carson-run free.
Anyways, on the school front, I'm about to kill the schedulers. I have THREE 8am classes. That's brutal, because I'm 45 minutes away from Campus, but add rushhour to the mix, and I have to get up around 5:30am. Mornings make Kayla a very, very grumpy person. Not to mention that by 1pm, I feel dead to the world and just want to sleep. I'm literally dragging myself through the motions right now during those days so I hope that as I get more in shape, get some sleep and get into a schedule, things won't seem so excrutiating.
I also have to get myself out of debt. Like majorly. I have one last credit card spending that I need to do for books, and than thats it. I've got way too much debt right now, and need to pay it off before my student loans come due. So Im hoping to be able to put $500 a month on it, and if I do that, I should be able to pay it off in about 16 months...*le sigh*
Tis all!
